Description: This antibody reacts with an antigen of 40kDa present on most epithelia. In normal tissues, it reacts with glands and hairshafts in skin, pancreatic glands, epithelia of the digestive and respiratory tract. MOC-31 stains epithelia of kidney, endometrium, breast, liver, prostate. No reactivity is observed with adrenal, ovary, brain, peripheral nerve, ganglion cells, peripheral blood and bone marrow. Lung derived tumors stain positively. Adenocarcinomas of the GI tract, bladder transitional cell carcinomas, prostate adenocarcinoma, testicular yolk tumours, uterine adenomatoid tumours, ovary cancers, carcinomas of the ovary, some breast carcinomas, thyroid carcinomas may be positive.
